Pasteurellosis Pasteurellosis is common in rabbits Several hundred people are infected with pasteurellosis each year. The disease, caused by a bacterium, is usually contracted from cats or dogs. However, a 29-year-old farmer from Suffolk was infected after picking up a rabbit on his farm.
